Thinking of the Troops During the Holidays

This year Jackson Therapy Partners has been focusing on sending a care package to soldiers stationed abroad. These soldiers are far from their homes, families and everything they know and love. The goal is to send them a little bit of home and encourage them with the knowledge that we care about them and want them to come home safely.

Jackson Therapy partners internal and traveling employees joined to give cash donations as well as new items to put into care packages. Children of Jackson Therapy Partners contributed with some wonderful artwork.

The care packages consist of many of the following items:

• Beef Jerky/ Slim Jims
• Coffee, Hot Chocolate
• Single serving size instant drink mixes (Crystal Light, Gatorade etc.)
• Tuna in foil pouches
• Chocolate
• Dry soup (Ramen Noodles/ Cup O Soup)
• Instant Oatmeal
• Microwave foods (popcorn, Chef Boy R Dee, Mac and Cheese)
• Baby Wipes
• Hand Sanitizer
• Body Wash
• Shampoo/ Conditioner (travel size)
• Deodorant (travel Size)
• Disposable Razors
• Shaving Cream (No cans, tubes only)
• Lip Balm
• Baby Powder & Foot Powder (travel size)
• Hand and Body Lotion (travel size)
• DVDs
• Pens and Mechanical Pencils
• Stationary and Envelopes
• Puzzle Books (Crosswords, Word Search, Math, Mad Libs, Sudoku)
• Yo-Yo’s, playing cards, poker chips
• Air Fresheners
• Socks: Black, Olive Green or White (cotton and/or wool)
• Winter hats and blankets
• Holiday decorations
• Cards and Letters

By Thanksgiving, we had collected $1280.00 and created care packages to brighten the holidays of 40 soldiers.

The survey was conducted to find jobs with great pay, low stress, societal benefit, excellent growth prospects and job security.

Holiday Food Drive

This year Jackson Therapy Partners held a Thanksgiving Food Drive and collected donations for the Second Harvest Food Bank of Orlando, Florida. Second Harvest is a nonprofit organization that collects and distributes food to 500 nonprofit partner agencies in Central Florida. This year JTP collected 165lbs. of food, and $200! For every dollar donated …the food bank was able to acquire over $9 worth of food! JTP is grateful for the opportunity to give back to the community.
